At Kogniz, privacy is our utmost concern, and we abide by our code of conduct. We ensure optimal end user privacy in an effort to inspire widespread adoption in the technology industry. We pride ourselves on having the highest ethical principles.

Kogniz is committed to being transparent and accountable to all stakeholders. We implement our Code of Conduct and high ethical principles into every aspect of our technology. Whenever possible, we use technology to assist in enforcing our Code of Conduct. Kogniz and its’ customers are committed to adhering to our Code of Conduct. Opting in to our Code of Conduct is mandatory for all customer engagements.

  1. Mitigate the abuse of facial recognition technology for mass surveillance.

    Kogniz is committed to ensuring our facial recognition technology is used responsibly and with dignity to all stakeholders. We do not partner with any organization that will use our technology for mass surveillance or for individual surveillance. Kogniz will not use our technology to facilitate any mass public surveillance program, and is strictly against any such activity.

  2. Keep all customer data private.

    We strongly believe in customer privacy. We do not sell or share customer data with any other organization for any purpose. A faceprint or any information derived from the operation of a face recognition system may not be sold or shared except with the informed, written consent of the individual whose information is being sold or shared.

  3. Ensure facial recognition technology does not violate civil liberties.

    Kogniz disallows the sharing and misuse of private facial recognition data for any purpose, especially those that risk civil liberties or risk human life. Kogniz does not enter into any agreement with any organization that uses facial recognition technology for discrimination, profiling, risking life, or law enforcement abuse. Kogniz mitigates law enforcement abuse by ensuring our technology is not used to encroach on individual freedoms.

  4. Prevent government use of our facial recognition technology.

    Kogniz does not enter into any agreement with any government entity. Kogniz will not use our facial recognition technology for mass surveillance, discrimination, profiling, risking life, or law enforcement abuse. Kogniz or its’ customers will not enter into any agreement with a government entity for any purpose, and any such agreement is in breach of contract and is unlawful.

  5. Customers must agree to comply with our code of conduct.

    Kogniz and its’ customers are committed to adhering to our Code of Conduct. Our Code of Conduct is placed in our Terms of Sale to ensure ethical behavior from our customers and partners. If the Code of Conduct is broken, we have the right to terminate our relationship.

  6. Partnering with other groups that seek to prevent the abuse of facial recognition technology.

    Kogniz is partnering with organizations that seek to prevent the abuse of facial recognition technology. Kogniz is in agreement with the Georgetown Center on Privacy and Technology, the Algorithmic Justice League, and the Safe Face Pledge that aim to prevent the misuse of facial recognition technology. Kogniz strives to be a pioneer with best practices in the Technology industry. We choose to use facial recognition technology with the highest ethical principles and moral standards.

  7. Updating our Code of Conduct to stay current with industry trends and the dynamic problems it presents.

    We use a flexible and evolving approach to the application of facial recognition technology. Our code of conduct is designed to keep pace with the dynamic marketplace surrounding facial recognition technology, and sensitive data.
